Matching Grant: Help Us Build 4 More Cabins!
Shortly before New Years, Jeremiah’s Hope received a letter in the mail from a Christian foundation (which requests to remain anonymous) with the great news that our proposal for a matching grant was approved. The foundation’s directors voted unanimously to approve a $12,500 matching grant to “build four additional cabins for the Jeremiah’s Hope camp.” These four cabins would help us minister to more children during camp. Currently, we have the capacity to house 70 people. This year we have been operating at full capacity and have hoped to expand. The addition of four new cabins will increase our capacity by 32 more beds and potentially allow us to serve up to 200 more children each summer. We thank God for the foundation’s willingness to help us meet this need.
As this is a matching grant, Jeremiah’s Hope will not receive the $12,500 until we have raised an additional $12,500 to match the foundation’s gift. The foundation has told us that the grant is open to be matched with “gifts or pledges” anytime from January 1 to May 31. Obviously, this is a big match to meet, but we believe that God will provide!
